The first Blue Heron that I recall seeing was in northern California when I was about 10 years old. We lived in a rural community outside of Sacramento where I rode horseback, swam, and explored the foothills at every opportunity.
I saw the heron fly overhead and land in a nearby oak tree by our home. I was startled by the bird's prehistoric look and researched information until I could find out what it was.
Throughout my life in Alaska and now Idaho, there've been many sitings of these impressive birds. I've painted 3 heron paintings, and all have sold except this one. It's currently hanging at Unique Antler Design and Gallery just outside of Riggins. Address: 7378 US-95, Riggins, Idaho. Ph: 208-596-7018.
The painting is acrylic on wrapped and splined canvas. It may be purchased here or through their gallery. Either way, they will recieve 30% of the profits from the sale.
